Bottom right hand side painful and burning sensation.
Hi B. and Daniel,My right bottom right hand side painful and burning sensation. It’s been going on for a number of months on and off, but progressively getting worse over the past fortnight. Over the past couple of days, it’s intolerable especially after a bowel movement. Any movement now sets it off. I’ve just been to the washroom and come back to bed. Pain not going away.
Could this be the ileocecal valve. The location appears to be there.
Is there a link between this and Sibo? Could I massage this are to eliviate the pain.
I am meeting the Gastroenterologist today at 12.30 pm to discuss my bravo and video capsule endoscopy test results. I will mention this to him. Could I scan pick this up?
I also have the pain on my left side but not as intense. Again lower left side.

Hi yes, the lower right side can be the ileocecal valve. There could also be some inflammation in the colon area around that spot. Your gastro will likely want to run a stool test to measure calprotectin. Ultrasound can be done, but they typically prefer to do an MRI scan for a better view.

I haven’t been through the constipation relief program fully. Tbh, I’m not eating much to be constipated I think. It’s difficult to tell. I only have one main meal a day. The other is just porridge blended.
My calprotectin in last GI Map was high I think.
