What would be the recommended dose of IV iron for someone with Ferritin level of 7?

Hi – unfortunately, that’s outside the scope of our practice. Your physician or whoever is certified to be administering the IV should be the one to tell you what is appropriate for your needs.
Are you asking because you’d like to confirm what they’re suggesting? Do you have any concerns that perhaps we can help address?

thank you very much . Yes I’m just anxious I guess but I did it yesterday and I’m supposed to have tomorrow and on Sunday . The doctor has split the dose into 3 as was anxious and prefer not to overload

that’s actually a good way to be administering it since we have mechanisms in place (look into hepcidin’s role if you want to learn more!) to block iron absorption if we get a big glut of it all at once. As you know, iron can be toxic at high levels so we have these in-built mechanisms to protect us. So spacing it out is actually better in terms of absorption.

thank you very much . Yes my concern was if it was too often with only 2 days gaps between each administration…
