  • Sparkling water – yay or nay?

    Sooooo I know all about hydration…well, basically that we have to do it and are probably falling short of what we should be giving our bodies.  Butttt, what’s the take on sparkling water. Too much fluoride? Unnatural? Causes bloating? Would love to know if I need to stop chugging my san pelligrinossss and perriers!  x SS

     so a few issues to keep in mind:

    1. The source of water – spring water is best. Check your bottle! The Hydration pillar inside the Beginner’s Health Roadmap discusses the different sources of water and the different labels you’ll see in the stores.

    2. Carbonation can interrupt digestive function for some people so consume it away from meals (it at least 2 hours after a meal).

    3. Avoid flavors. Some sparkling waters come flavored. This mysterious ingredient can be synonymous for MSG so I avoid it as much as possible, unless I actually call up the company and inquire about the mystery “flavor”.
