    Hey Bernadette,
    Hope you well!
I have just received my results for my Thyroid and it is very confusing and I thought maybe you could clarify some parts please. My Free T3 and Free T4 are both in mid range and although my TSH levels were normal before (3 months ago even) now they are showing as H and I have been asked to increase my thyroxine to 100mg a day. I also presented with low testosterone and ACTH levels and low cortisol in blood. Is this a pattern you see with Hashimoto?

    TIA x

Hi Bernadette, so in 2021, Anti TG 382 / Anti TPO 206 and in March 2022 my Anti TG 326 and Anti TPO 128.
I will be having another blood test to check the levels currently as my TSH is high and above range.

    Thanks, Lana

Hey good morning, so my Anti TG 255 and my Anti TPO 140
I have looked at my blood test and compared to my previous and the pattern is always that my free T3 are on the lower side (within range) – might be a conversion issue?

can you please share the results (either type them out with reference ranges or upload the thyroid labs). If it’s a conversion issue, think about nutrients needed for that. How is zinc, iron, vitamin A, selenium?

Hi – I forgot to mention on the call yesterday that I would like you to ask your doctor to run Reverse T3 next time as part of the full thyroid panel. Given that your cortisol is low, I want to see if your body is deactivating most of the T4 hormone into Reverse T3 (the inactive thyroid hormone). This should be part of the picture when you re-test your thyroid levels especially if T3 is being added to the T4 medication. We should know what is your body doing with the extra T3 basically…

The call recording is up in the “All Call Recordings” of your library dashboard if you feel the need to review it again.

Hey B, thank you so much for the call and for the above as well. Honestly I got so much information and I cant wait to go through you Thyroid course!
Just as a recap, I will need to check,
Reverse T3 plus full thyroid panel
    Organis Acids test
Selenium, Iron, RBC Zinc, Zinc serum, RBC Mag, RBC B12, and vitamin A
Full liver panel, plus total bilirubin
    Cortisol saliva test

Would you recommend I also test the ACTH again?

I was also trying to find the FODMAP but I cant seem to find it? Could you please let me know where it is saved.

    Thanks again 🙂
    x

Yes, here’s what I would ask for:

    Full thyroid panel:
    •  TSH, Total T4, Total T3, Free T4, Free T3, Reverse T3, anti-TPO, anti-TG

    Thyroid conversion nutrients:
    • iron/ferritin is not needed, we already have it
    • vitamin A
    • RBC zinc, serum zinc, serum copper, ceruloplasmin
    • RBC selenium (if available, otherwise serum)

Check if B12 is getting into cells:
    • serum B12 and RBC B12 (or Methylmalonic Acid – MMA)

    Full Liver panel:
    • ALT, AST, Alk Phos, GGT, Total & Direct bilirubin (make sure they add direct bilirubin), Protein, Albumin

Multi-sample Salivary Cortisol (if they don’t offer it, then get the functional tests below)

Functional tests (we can help you access these if you’d like to pursue them):
    • Organic Acids Test (this includes MMA plus other B vitamin markers). Here’s a sample report. Cost is $349 USD plus shipping. 3-week turnaround time.
    • Dutch Adrenal. Here’s a sample report. Cost is $309 USD plus shipping. 3-week turnaround time.

Repeating ACTH again – not necessary but may be a good idea to make sure it wasn’t lab error.

The FODMAP food list is attached on the right in call recording itself. You’ll see summarized call notes beneath the video and to the right is the attached file.

Please keep us posted on your progress. Lots you can begin to implement and hopefully start feeling relief soon.

Good evening 🙂 Thank you for the above! I will be sure to run all these tests and will get back to you after 🙂

With regards to the functional test, if I had to start with one which one would you recommend I do?

At the moment I will increase my protein intake as advised and switch to green tea for my second coffee lol
I have also ordered the Dr Shade Bitters and the 5 HTP and the ADR formula. I may start with the 5HTP first and see how I go before the Adrenal supplements.

    Thanks again!

if you want value for money, the OAT test offers a lot of insight. Multi-sample saliva cortisol test can always be measured with a doctor.

    Hey Bernadette

Thats so strange I was so sure I responded to this!
I would be really grateful if you could help me to get the OAT test done as I am interested to see what comes up – Would I still need to run the liver function tests?
I also received the digestive bitters which i am starting now 🙂 as for the 5HTP and ADR formula – which one do you recommend I start with?

    Thank you!

please send an email to support@bernadetteabraham.com with your full name, date of birth, email address, billing & shipping address (if different), and phone number, and request the OAT test.

Start with 5-HTP first, low and slow. Then ADR formula.

I would still recommend running the other blood tests, including the liver panel.
