Is it a digestive bitter or prokinetic?  I’ve known it as the latter.

How and when do you recommend clients to take it? I was taking 10 drops just before each meal. Maybe I was taking it incorrectly and also would irritate my stomach lining, so stopped.

Unfortunately, it’s not available in the UK. I’ve had to request a friend of mine to buy it for me from Poland when he goes out there.

Iberogast does have some herbal bitters (Bitter Candytuft). I believe adults and children above 12 years should take 20 drops 3x daily. Although it has peppermint leaf, it is also used for complaints like acid reflux.

If you believe you might react to it you could also try to start lower and slowly build the dosage up and let your body get used to it. See how you react to that.[Iberogast Professional Information.pdf]

it’s both which is why it’s a popular product.

It’s ideally taken 10-15 mins before a meal, but it can also be taken with food or even after food.

However, as I discussed on the call with you, at this stage it might not be appropriate since it will stimulate stomach acid production as well. This could be the “irritation” you were experiencing.

Instead, supporting digestion with targeted enzymes and liver/gallbladder support instead can offer relief by helping you breakdown your food better given that you’re still on acid blocker meds. Hence my suggestion for Digestion GB. But if the bile support doesn’t suit you in that formula, then I also suggested those 2 other enzyme brands.
