    Hi B.,

May I ask you a question.

My niece’s son in Pakistan is just over 4 years old and attending school. However, he doesn’t talk. If he does, it’s a few words which are inchorent.

He’s able to hear OK and does what he’s told by his mother and other family members.

His sibling, is 3 years old and very talkative. He doesn’t even communicate with him.

Apparently, he’s undergone a number of tests and been told they’re normal. I’m not sure what these tests entailed.

Any thoughts on what the little one could be going through. He’s coming here on the 27th, so will see at first hand how he is.

I’m not sure what type of doctors they’ve seen, but if a child is not speaking by 4, proper tests to assess this type of development delay should be conducted. It’s hard to give you any guidance without knowing any other details about this child, but if I were them, I’d want to consult with a speech therapist and get an Educational Psychological Assessment Report done.
