Hi  – great question. We have this handout in the Resources that lists the many different tests for different circumstances which includes gut health and food sensitivity testing.

For general microbiome health & digestive function, I usually recommend the GI Map. You can find an explanation about this test here with a sample report inside the Gut Health Masterclass. If you’re in Dubai, we can help with the requisition to order this test. Just email support@bernadetteabraham.com and provide your name, email, phone number, date of birth, shipping & billing address (if different). Specify if you want the zonulin add-on (which helps determine intestinal permeability  (aka – leaky gut). I explain more in the video).

With food sensitivity testing, we also give our members access to the KBMO test (one of the best out there). If you prefer to do it with a lab in Dubai, we’ve partnered with Valeo Health – they also give our members a discount. I believe they run the Food Print food sensitivity test. You can setup an account here with Valeo Health and they’ll send you a nurse to draw blood.

Let me know if you have any clarifying questions.

to possibly help you out further – may I ask why you’d like to run these 2 tests? Do you have specific symptoms that you’d like to get to the bottom of? Or is just general curiosity and optimizing health?

Just general curiosity and I also noticed that something triggers my gut and I don’t understand is it a gluten or a dairy so would like to double check.

ah ok. Have you ever tried an elimination diet followed by a reintroduction challenge?

This is considered the gold standard test for food sensitivity testing but it does require some effort and a bit of trialing.

If you’re curious to give it a go (and save some money on testing), here’s a handout with instructions. Basically you remove the suspect food 100% for at least 30 days, then you re-introduce it for 1 day in a good amount to trigger an immune reaction (if any), and wait to see if your old symptoms return within 5 days of the re-introduction. If so, there’s your answer.

I’ll also share the handouts on gluten and dairy elimination as these can be hidden in many foods. It’s good to be aware of these if you choose to do an elimination diet.

Removing dairy tends to be the easiest for people. You can remove one at a time, or both dairy and gluten. It’s your choice.

Let me know if you have any questions and if you come to any conclusions if you do test/or eliminate them.

I’m so happy to hear that you’re feeling amazing! What type of food sensitivity test did you end up doing? Food elimination challenge or a blood test?
