    Hi B,
coming back to my question during the live Q&A about whether sole is beneficial with people who have hypertension, you wanted to know what meds my Mom is taking.
    She takes
    Amlodipin 2.5mg/day
    Candesartan 8mg/day

    I looked both up and

    • Amlodipin is a calcium channel blockers which lowers sodium and calcium.
    • Candesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that increases potassium.
If I read correctly, the amount of potassium in sole water is rather small. So, would she benefit from sole water?

So calcium channel blockers, block calcium from entering the cells of the heart and arteries, which causes them to relax. But yes, they do cause sodium loss, so she would likely benefit from additional salt in her diet.

Often times, the drug that is being used to treat hypertension actually contributes to the problem longer term by creating an electrolyte imbalance unfortunately.
