Hey ,
First of all, welcome to this platform! My name is Daniel and I’m helping Bernadette answer questions on the platform.
First of all, I’m sorry to hear about your condition. It sounds like a lot! This platform has a lot of content. If you like I can help you a bit on your way! Advises usually gets better when we know a bit more about you. If like to share a bit more feel free! Things that could help us are for example:
• What type of symptoms do you experience? And think broadly! Do you have diarrhea, constipation, gas or do you feel bloated? How are your energy levels? Do you feel fatigued? And if so, do you feel more fatigued after dinner? How is your sleep? Do you wake up well-rested?
• Do you use your medications daily? And if so, for how long have you been taking them? Some medications could also cause some gut symptoms and nutrient deficiencies with long-term use.
• What type of dietary strategies did you try? And did some of them give some relief?
With auto-immune disease in general we see often periods in which symptoms ‘flare up’. You are probably already familiar with this! Often flares get less with getting your serum vitamin D levels in the right zone. Was your vitamin D ever measured? And if so, what were they measured at?
The gut health master class is an interesting course to follow for you. With autoimmune diseases, we also see often that gut function has been altered. Bringing balance is probably part of your healing journey as well!
Hypertension and high cholesterol can be signs of many things. Insulin resistance is one of them. Perhaps you can also watch this video and this one as well from the blood sugar regulation course. This video explains what type of symptoms you could experience as a result of this. If you recognize any of them, let us know and we can advise you further!
There is also an option to upload labs when you like. I and Bernadette will take a look at them and could find some other clues to what fits in your healing journey.
Stress hormones usually play also an important role in autoimmune diseases. Stress could be caused by emotional stress. But many other lifestyle factors can influence stress hormones as well, like: pain, sleep problems, infections, steroids and many other things.
This message was just meant to welcome you here, but if you like some guidance, let me know!
