Functional medicine schools
Hi @Mashal,
Bernadette asked me to share my experience with regards to nutrition/ functional medicine schools.
I had initially planned to do NTA (Nutritional Therapy Association) in order to have a strong foundation, and continue with one of the Functional Medicine Schools, such as IFM or AFMC. All those mentioned certificates are top notch and the best there is. If you are pursuing a professional carrier in this field, do your research and sign up with a school that fulfills your needs.
I ended up doing neither and here is why: I did not want to rush myself and wanted to have a self paced course just because I knew the stress and pressure would not do ME any good, and financials played a big role as well.
I chose IHP (Integrative Health Practitioner Institute), they offer level 1 and 2 and Mastery. Level 1 covers diet, exercise, stress, toxins, rest, emotions, supplements and success mindset. Level 2 goes deeper into analyzing different tests. IHP is an accredited certification and it is even possible to get it American Board certified.
Somewhere along the way I discovered my passion for analyzing blood tests, and have now started MBCE, a master blood chemistry certification by Emily Morrow.
I also educate myself on platforms such as Bbetter. And if you utilize this membership properly, you will learn endlessly, the courses that B and her team put out here are honestly way more in depth than IHP.
At the end it all comes down to your „why“ and what your goals are.
Hope this helps. Here to help and chat if any more questions.
