Do you have concerns about low blood pressure? Then this tip is for you! In this week’s tip you will learn:

    • The signs & symptoms of low blood pressure.
    • When measuring low blood pressure might not be a concern
    • What you can do to get your blood pressure up!

Maybe you measured your own blood pressure or someone else’s blood pressure and you feel worried. If your first measurement is a bit alarming, make sure you measure again! In this previous tip I discuss how to measure blood pressure the right way. It might surprise you with all the things that can influence a blood pressure measurement.

One thing I would like to repeat here is that different arm sizes require different cuffs. A small arm needs a smaller cuff. Not only in width but also in length! This is why the arms of children usually require different cuffs. If you are an adult but have small arms, it would be wise to change to a different cuff size as well.

Children and adolescents usually have lower blood pressure.

    This is normal!

The younger or smaller the kid, the lower the blood pressure can be. No reason to panic. If you’re measuring lower blood pressure in adults: A single hypotensive measurement isn’t usually problematic as long as no symptoms are present.
