    Thanks B.

Yes I use his fermented foods and I do my own as well actually (although the kefir didnt work as nicely!).

With regards to the b vitamin drops, I could use the Clarks rule to get the dosage for each child right? As for the magnesium, i found Mary Ruths magnesium citrate in gummy form 50mg only. Would this be enough? Based on the formula I think my daughter needed about 200mg.

I will start with the fermented foods and magnesium and lemon water and see how they get on. Any specific amount of lemon in the water?

Thanks again for your guidance! always appreciated x

    Thanks for the feedback.

So my daughter has had at least twice a year a course of antibiotics, so this was one of my main concerns for her gut health.

She doesnt have much coconut oil. I use to cook with it but I use olive oil and avocado oil at times.

She also has lots of protein and same as her brother, other than lamb the red meat is not really fatty. She gets very bloated though after her meals.

Again should I be giving her B vitamins too? and vitamin c? I cant seem to find any she likes though but its easier with her as she is okay to swallow small pills.

    Hey,

Thank you so much for this.

He does not really take that much antibiotics and his immunity is pretty good. But I would say maybe once a year he ends up on a course due to strep mainly.

With regards to the high oxalates, do you think I should check his kidneys? I found magnesium citrate in powder form from NOW but thats not available here. The other brands here are biocare which is a mix with malate or biogena but that also has vitamin C and calcium. Can you remind me please of the formula to use to get the dosage for a child. Is it specifically citrate form? I have glycinate in powder form.

With regards to hydroxybutyric, I thought this helps regulate BS? How would it cause dysregulation?

He eats a lot of protein and red meat but not necessarily fatty red meat. He has a lot of cheese.. could this be a cause?

As for sugar, he really doesnt crave it too much – I mean if its in front of him he will grab what he can get! but he doesnt ask for it.

Should I be giving him B vitamins considering he seems quite low?

    1. A while back I was discussing with you my daughters’ stomach bloating and she does get stomach cramps at least yearly and we had also discussed the OAT. Also not to mention the 1/2 yearly courses of antibiotics so again just concerned n terms of how her gut has been impacted.

    3. she eats well and includes a variety of foods however she does crave sugar and carbs a lot. We had done some tst with Dr Amel and her insulin levels are on the higher side. Vitamin d is good.

    4. active and has good energy levels.

    5. sleeps well. I usually dont let them sleep past 8pm

    hope this helps x

    1. 2.Since a very young age, his favorite food was peanut butter and I was always worried that he was consuming too much of it and mold. and on occasions he has complained on a tummy ache and then it went away.

    3. He is pretty slim, and his diet is high in protein mainly. he isnt a big fan of fruits and he eats potatoes/sweet potatoes/ brocoli/ edamame/ cauliflower/ cucumber/ little salad

    4. he has energy but is not always very focused or coordinated. His teachers have not mentioned this so I guess he can sit still but I do find that he doesnt like to sit still.

    5. he sleeps well but is a mouth breather. he has his adenoids removed, we recently had to place an expander to widen his jaw and once this treatment is done we will start with the tongue exercises in conjunction to mouth breathing.

    6. vitamin d levels are good (had them checked with Dr Amel) – he did have high B12 levels around the 700 mark but I recall you saying this was okay.

    Hope this helps x

    Morning B,

Lovely thank you for sharing this – how useful! so the protocol is based on a adult and I will use the formula to get her dosage. For example for the magnesium she would need 288mg and the acti- mag from biotech (which also has B vitamins) is 400mg in one scoop – I could just give her half even though its a little less but I cant really measure it otherwise.

As for the omega – I will do my best but I doubt she will accept lol she tried once to open it and she got traumatised lol

What about black seed oil? This is good for inflammation. Would you recommend this?

    Hey B

I had a look at the protocol – I found Thorne CalMag and vitamin C but the magnesium is citrate not glycinate. Would you recommend I give her this as its powder form and easier to take. The magnesium supplements in general are quite big. otherwise I also have biotics research actimag plus which has magnesium 400mg as well as the B vitamins. and I can add the vitamin c vials from marny.

Same with the Omega 3 pills – they are quite big. Do you have any recommendations for this?

In terms of collagen – can I give her the Healthnag brand? I have this already.

I have the throne brand of curcumin, 500mg two capsules. Is that too much?

Which brand of vitamin A do you recommend?

She has been taking panadol for pain relief as it just happened yesterday. I am hoping the pain will ease in a few days.

    Best, Lana

Good morning B, I sent a response but I am not sure it went through.

Thank you again – this is starting to make a bit more sense now. I did have my smear test three weeks ago and she checked me as I had mentioned my periods started to become a little irregular. She said I was fine. I was reading somewhere that because my DHEA levels were low, PCOS would not be driven by my adrenal but rather my ovaries – so my question is if I got checked does that rule it out or should I have a ct scan for better results?

I will discuss all this with my doctor – I know he also wants to test for ACTH.

With regards to perimenopause- I asked if I should test my progesterone on day 24 ( based on a 35 day cycle) and he said the main ones were FSB and LH. Should I still test or focus on those findings for now.

    Thanks

    Lana

Hi B, thank you for such a detailed response. That was really helpful!

Could supplementing with DHEA a week before the blood test affect my Androstenedione levels to this extent? I did start the chaste tree a couple of weeks prior to testing but DHEA only a week before. Also One DHEA pill is 50 and it’s quite small to cut in half so should I stop it before retesting as well as stopping the chaste tree? I do feel slightly better since taking them but I’m wondering if I should stop everything and test again. I have been feeling more fatigued mid day this week which is new but my kids have been unwell so I figured I’m just fighting all these viruses around me.

My DHEA levels have been low for a few years now but I never really addressed it. But I had just started taking the supplements a week before the test so I don’t think it would make too much of a difference would it?

I eat pretty well and focused on protein and fiber and although PCOS was something that came to mind it just didn’t make any sense to me. My periods are slightly irregular but I just put this down to stress or starting perimenopause.

I will look into PCOS a little more to understand it better and see if this is something to look into.

    Thank you!

    Hi B

In response to the new thread – posting on this one x

    1. When were these tests taken in your cycle? second day of my period
    2. How long after starting supplementation did you have your blood drawn? about 2 weeks with the chaste tree and 1 week for the DHEA
    3. How long have you been supplementing in total? chaste tree has been now 4 weeks and DHEA about 2.5 weeks
    4. How are you feeling now? Any new updates or symptoms to report? I feel good and dont feel as snappy but I dont know if this is related or just my mindset shift. As for the DHEA (50 only still) i feel stronger at the gym.

    Hi B,

okay thank you for this feedback and all the videos. So I aim to have at least 25-30g of protein per meal with a protein based snack and I take Tyrosine so it is interesting to see that I am not converting T4 to T3 as well. And wondering if this is related to stomach acid. I definitely eat too fast and dont allow time to enjoy my food – I try to be more mindful of this! would you recommend bitters or digestive enzymes?

As for Zinc the range is 70-114 so I am on the lower side. But do eat a lot of eggs.

I have not tested for vitamin A and have previously tested selenium which was on the higher end but worth retesting now as I use to supplement and have not stopped.

I will watch the videos and understand this better. With regards to the liver, what would be a good support at this stage without supplementing?

    Thanks
