most formulations offer 1g capsules, so in those cases it’s 1 to 3 capsules away from food

no – I typically wait about 45 days after a course of antimicrobials to retest with Diagnostic Solution’s H Pylori only stool test

I’m so happy to hear that!

My stance on bioresonance is really neutral at the moment. As a screening tool to assess a person’s overall health, there may be some truths in the results. However, it also really depends on the type of machine being used, the clinicians skills and experience. And that’s the problem… it’s not very reproducible… yet! But the field of quantum medicine/energy medicine is emerging.

And as far as treatments using bioresonance goes, I’ve noticed that it works really well on children with allergies, but not much else.

I’d be interested in knowing your symptoms and if the results picked up on the possible root causes for you (only if you’d like to share of course).

I will let you know if I end up meeting Dr. Simone… and please share your experience with Evox therapy if you do end up doing it.

yes, 1g is typically what you will find in formulations but it’s not uncommon for some treatments to go up to 3g in severe cases, and in between meals.

Yes, the baking soda trick is meant to lower stomach acid AWAY from meals to help draw out the bacteria from hiding which makes the antimicrobial treatment more effective. This is the reason why doctors prescribe antacids with antibiotics for H Pylori treatment.

Hi  – are you referring to the emotional healing therapy with biofeedback sound mapping?

I cannot make a personal recommendation yet since I don’t have experience with this form of therapy, but I did find it available at Rejuv Wellness by Dr. Simone.

Actually, I was recently introduced to her by a common friend in our ‘biohacking’ WhatsApp group, but we have yet to meet in person. But now I’m interested in pursuing that introduction for you and others to get more info.

sorry to hear you’re having trouble reaching them. I’ve been hearing this recently from others as well. Not sure what to tell you… I don’t know the company owners or any of their employees.

I know that if results are still positive, they usually offer a money back guarantee or a complimentary 1-month kit to repeat the course. Did your friend try emailing them about that? Is that why they haven’t responded yet?

How are you feeling so far? Do you feel it’s helping you?

no unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a home device for measuring that because it should always be taken with a control air sample as well (i.e outdoors).

Doctors typically order both cholesterol and triglyceride levels (as part of a lipid panel) to assess cardiovascular risk, but neither is necessarily more “accurate” than the other. They simply provide different information, so I’m not sure what your doctor was referring to when he said that to you.

Triglycerides and cholesterol are two different types of lipids (fats) found in your blood.

Cholesterol is typically measured in terms of total cholesterol, as well as HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol. Total cholesterol gives you an overall measure of the cholesterol in your blood.
Triglycerides, on the other hand, are another type of lipid that plays a role in heart health. Elevated triglyceride levels can also be associated with an increased risk of heart disease.

You can read this handout on cholesterol for a better understanding of how they all work together. And next week, we’ll be welcoming Dr. Ralph Esposito into B Better to help us “demystify the lipid panel”. It’s at 5pm Dubai time on October 26th if you can make it live.

Hi – I’ll reply to your questions one by one below:

    1. Re cramps: it’s possible magnesium might be needed, but with muscle cramps during training, it’s usually dehydration and a need for electrolytes and potassium. But first consider the basics. Is he well hydrated and is he eating enough salt in his diet? If someone is very active and sweats a lot, they can add ‘sole’ into a glass bottle on training days, or an electrolyte packet like Humantra / LMNT. We have a few videos in the Mineral Balance course that can help you figure out mineral deficiencies and how to correct them.
Signs & Symptoms of Magnesium Deficiency and how to correct it
Signs & Symptoms of Potassium Deficiency and how to correct it

    2. Re protein bars and shakes. It’s important to read ingredient labels. Most protein bars are candy bars in disguise, and shakes can have some pretty unnecessary and harmful ingredients like artificial sweeteners and colors. For children, I encourage a food first approach.

The general guideline is to get in at least 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight. So let’s say the average 16-18 year old male weighs 130-150 lbs (divide by 2.2 to get kgs), the goal is to get in 130 to 150 grams of protein per day, which is 43 to 50 grams of protein per meal (3 meals per day).

    For example:
    • A 6-ounce (170 grams) serving of grilled chicken breast typically contains around 40-50 grams of protein
    • A 6-ounce serving of salmon can provide approximately 40-50 grams of protein
    • A 6-ounce (170-gram) lean beef steak can provide around 40-50 grams of protein
    • About 1.5 cups of cooked quinoa can have around 40-50 grams of protein
    • ~2 cups of cooked lentils may provide 40-50 grams of protein
    • ~2 cups of greek yogurt or cottage cheese can provide 40-50 grams of protein

So it’s quite possible and doable with food.

If a protein powder is desired, you can look at grassfed organic whey (unflavored) products, or a pea-based protein powder if sensitive to dairy. Nuzest is a clean vegetarian protein that is also available in the UAE.

    3. I believe you’re referring to this Rhodiola Rosea product correct? Rhodiola is a calming adaptogen like holy basil, ashwaghanda, passionflower, etc that can help lower high cortisol (hence why that doctor is recommending it during exams). However it can be stimulating to some as it does impair the COMT enzyme which breaks down certain neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine, so for someone with a genetic predisposition for slow COMT it may exacerbate things and make them feel more wired. Just keep that in mind.

    4. Regarding sending off my eldest to Uni, I believe guided meditation was what really helped me deal with it. Meditation allows me to become an observer of my own thoughts and the emotions they bring up. As such, I can disassociate thoughts which helps me “snap out of” any mental state that I’m in. So if I’m feeling sad, instead of dwelling on it and saying “I’m sad”, I am capable of noticing the emotion “I am feeling sadness” and looking at it as if I’m an observer which allows me to then change the thought. It makes a huge difference observing your emotion, instead of identifying as your emotion.

I also comfort myself by reminding myself of my older sister’s words… we’re blessed to see our children fly off on their own. It’s a positive loss so to speak. It would be much harder NOT to witness them start their own lives because of failure to launch. It’s a bitter sweet feeling, but with today’s technology – staying connected makes it so much easier.

One last thought now that I’ve gone through this new phase of life… I think it’s critically important to teach our children how to cook. Not just pasta and eggs, but cooking proper meals. Making bone broth, salad dressings, etc. and having an ability to whip up a meal with whatever is in the fridge. It’s a life skill that will make YOU feel at ease knowing they can feed themselves. If you can’t teach them at home before they leave, invest in culinary lessons. That’s my advice.

    Hope this helps!

yes, Air Free is another brand I recommend and I believe more affordable correct? They use a different technology than Intellipure though… not a bad thing. Just different.

    Hi
that’s just one option of hygrometers. There are many others that will do a good job – just make sure to check reviews.

As for the Intellipure compact version. Just make sure it covers the space you’ll be using it in.

Glad to see you focusing on home health as well!

I know you’re both asking for a locally available brand, but my preference is still Xtrema cookware and they deliver worldwide. I’ve had my set for well over 15 years and they still look brand new. Downside is they’re heavy and fragile, so if it was knocked hard or dropped, it would chip or break.

The only other brand I know of that claims to be PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, cadmium and lead free in Dubai is GreenPan at Lakeland. However, there was a lawsuit in 2020 for false advertising claiming they are “toxin free”, when their Thermolon™’ coating, which is applied to every GreenPan Product, contains other known toxins. Here’s an article on that if you want to read more about it.

Anytime something is “non-stick” you have to wonder what materials are being used.

This is why my preference is still Xtrema. They get 3rd party certification testing, and as I said before, I’ve had mine for over 15 years now and still happy with them.

I will be exploring a new stainless steel frying pan in stores, so will let you know if I decide on one. Stainless steel is made of chromium and nickel, so not ideal if someone has a nickel allergy.

prioritizing stress reduction and finding ways to help your body feel “safe” on a daily basis is going to be key!

Please watch this video on how stress can impact thyroid function. We need good thyroid function for good energy. If the stress you’ve been under has become chronic, and adrenal output is decreasing cortisol production (on purpose for survival!), that can also increase pain in the body since cortisol is anti-inflammatory.

The same dynamics caused by stress and low thyroid function can also lead to sex hormone imbalance and more frequent periods – so they’re all connected! But there could be other reasons as well, and I’d need more information from you to help rules these out like:

-PCOS/insulin resistance – have these been checked?
-perimenopause (natural ageing process) – your age please?
-adenomyosis/polyps/fibroids – have these been ruled out by your doc?

What have you been doing to address the underactive thyroid and I’m assuming you’re already fully gluten-free correct?

You mentioned that you’re working with a doctor to manage stress. May I know what therapies you’re implementing? I can also suggest watching this video here on healing modalities. And if your overall cortisol is in fact low, please watch this video for solutions to help regulate the HPO axis (brain-ovary axis).

there’s really no need to switch to cow milk if they are doing fine on goat milk. But if they’ve never had cow milk and you’d like to introduce it, you can follow the same strategy as any food trial introduction and monitor for any symptoms.
